Im Hintergrund geht eine maskierte Gestalt vorbei, leicht gebeugt, als tr\u00fcge sie eine unsichtbare Last, auf einem Weg entlang einer Steinmauer mit vergitterten Fenstern: ein Echo des Eingeschlossenseins, das damals so viele Menschen erlebten.<\/p>\n<p>Im Vordergrund f\u00e4ngt der R\u00fcckspiegel eines Motorrads ein kleines, gew\u00f6lbtes und verzerrtes Spiegelbild des Glockenturms von Saint-\u00c9tienne-du-Mont ein, der Kirche neben dem Panth\u00e9on; der Turm steht jahrhundertealt und unger\u00fchrt da. Ich wollte beides nebeneinander zeigen, das eine zerbrechlich und menschlich, das andere monumental und gleichg\u00fcltig, als stille Allegorie auf eine sehr seltsame Zeit.<\/p>\n<p>Das Geschehen verteilt sich auf zwei Punkte des Bildes. Der Spiegel nimmt den linken Vordergrund ein, nah und scharf; der Passant steht weiter hinten, knapp rechts der Mitte, klein vor der Mauer. Das Auge muss vom einen zum anderen wandern.<\/p>\n<p>Die Sch\u00e4rfentiefe tr\u00e4gt die Idee: Scharf gestellt ist der Spiegel, sodass das Monument nur als Spiegelung existiert, wenige Zentimeter gro\u00df, w\u00e4hrend die menschliche Figur erkennbar, aber weich bleibt.
