F\u00fcr Schwarzwei\u00df habe ich mich entschieden, noch bevor ich den Ausschnitt w\u00e4hlte. An dieser K\u00fcste ist die Farbe ein d\u00fcnnes Graugr\u00fcn, das nichts hinzuf\u00fcgt, w\u00e4hrend der Tonwertabstand zwischen nassen Kieseln und beleuchteter Kreide enorm ist. Aus genau diesem Abstand besteht das Bild.<\/p>\n<p>Ich habe die Kamera tief unten aufgestellt, direkt am ersten Felsblock, damit die Steine im Vordergrund ihr Gewicht behalten und das Auge etwas zu \u00fcberklettern hat, bevor es die Wand erreicht. Von da an \u00fcbernimmt die Klippe allein die Arbeit: Landzunge um Landzunge tritt sie zur\u00fcck, bis sie keine Form mehr ist, nur noch eine Ahnung im Dunst.<\/p>\n<p>Zwei Spazierg\u00e4nger stehen weit entfernt an der Wasserlinie, fast verloren. Sie allein geben dem Bild seinen Ma\u00dfstab. Ohne sie k\u00f6nnte die Wand vier Meter hoch sein oder vierhundert; mit ihnen ist sie genau das, was sie ist, und das Foto h\u00f6rt auf, eine Textur zu sein. Es wird zu einem Ort, an dem ein Mensch klein sein kann.<\/p>\n<p>In Erinnerung ist mir vor allem das Ger\u00e4usch: das Knirschen der Kiesel unter jeder zur\u00fcckweichenden Welle, ein langsamer Atemzug, der nie ganz zu Ende geht. Ich wartete, bis sich in der Wolkendecke eine helle L\u00fccke \u00f6ffnete und ein Lichtband \u00fcber die Klippenkante legte, und als es vor\u00fcbergezogen war, h\u00f6rte ich auf zu fotografieren.
