Golden Gate waves

As the sun went down over San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge held onto the last of the warm light while the sky behind it slid from lavender into deep blue. Its orange-red towers glowed against that cooling sky in a contrast I couldn’t resist trying to capture properly.
I left the shutter open long enough for the waves below to blur into silky trails of white against the dark rocks, so the whole scene would feel suspended rather than frozen: one bridge, one tide, one particular evening that will never happen in quite the same way again.
