Shades of green

Further along the same stretch of the Gourgue d’Asque in the Pyrénées, the river narrows and slows, and the whole gorge turns into a single study in green: moss on every rock, ferns unfurling at the waterline, filtered light dropping through a dense canopy overhead.
I framed this one low and close, letting the ferns in the foreground anchor the eye before it travels back into the mist and deeper shadow beyond. It’s one of the wildest, quietest corners I’ve ever stood in, and one of the hardest to leave.
