The story behind the photo
The pond had stopped being water. Fallen leaves covered it from bank to bank so completely that the surface had become a floor, and the trees above were reflected only in the few gaps left between them.
I framed upright and let the leaves take the lower two thirds, with the far bank and the golden canopy above. The eye reads the bottom as ground until it notices the reflection running through it, and that hesitation is exactly the picture.
The sky was overcast and the light even, which mattered more than usual. Dappled sun would have broken the leaf layer into bright and dark patches and destroyed its continuity; a flat sky keeps the whole surface at one value and lets the pattern stay a pattern.
It takes a particular week (after the leaves have fallen but before rain waterlogs them and they sink) and no wind at all on the morning you go. I missed it several years running. Getting it once made all the other attempts worth it.

Materials
Hahnemühle fine art papers (Photo Rag, Museum Etching, Fine Art Baryta…), chosen for each photograph.
Print mounted on 3 mm aluminium Dibond: rigid, light, no glazing.
Print set between 3 mm Dibond and an acrylic sheet: richer colour and depth, resistant to UV and humidity.
Framing, optional
For paper prints: white mount and Plexiglas glazing, museum glass optional.
For aluminium and acrylic: the photo seems to float inside its frame; black or white.
For aluminium and acrylic: an aluminium structure fixed to the back, invisible once hung.
Delivery and returns
Signed-for delivery by Colissimo or, depending on the country, to a pickup point; signed-for delivery by courier for Large and Extra large sizes and some framed prints. Usually two to three weeks in mainland France and Europe, thirty to forty-five days for the French overseas territories and other countries.
