The story behind the photo
Snow on both banks, the lake unfrozen and almost black, and a white ornamental footbridge crossing to the island. Every branch was still loaded, which only happens in the hour or two before the wind or the sun brings the snow down.
I framed with a large trunk hard against the right edge and its limbs reaching across the top of the picture, so that the bridge sits inside a rough frame of bark and snow. Without it, the bridge is a pretty object in the middle of a white field; with it, it becomes something glimpsed from under a tree.
The water is what makes the image work. It is the only dark mass in a frame that is otherwise white and pale grey, and it doubles the bridge exactly, turning the arch into a full circle.
This is an artificial lake in a park laid out in the nineteenth century, and the bridge was built to be looked at. On a snowy morning it finally gets the setting its designer clearly had in mind.

Materials
Hahnemühle fine art papers (Photo Rag, Museum Etching, Fine Art Baryta…), chosen for each photograph.
Print mounted on 3 mm aluminium Dibond: rigid, light, no glazing.
Print set between 3 mm Dibond and an acrylic sheet: richer colour and depth, resistant to UV and humidity.
Framing, optional
For paper prints: white mount and Plexiglas glazing, museum glass optional.
For aluminium and acrylic: the photo seems to float inside its frame; black or white.
For aluminium and acrylic: an aluminium structure fixed to the back, invisible once hung.
Delivery and returns
Signed-for delivery by Colissimo or, depending on the country, to a pickup point; signed-for delivery by courier for Large and Extra large sizes and some framed prints. Usually two to three weeks in mainland France and Europe, thirty to forty-five days for the French overseas territories and other countries.
