At Ploumanac’h on Brittany’s Pink Granite Coast, huge boulders in shades of rose and orange crowd the shoreline around the old stone beacon, while the sea beyond turns an almost improbable turquoise under an overcast sky. I used a long exposure to soften the incoming waves into pale, drifting foam, so that hard, ancient stone in the foreground would sit against something that looks almost weightless by comparison.
This photograph received a Merit Mention in Landscape at the 2026 Federation of European Photographers, adding to an earlier Honorable Mention in Landscapes at the 2024 Chromatic Awards.
