The story behind the photo
The Stangala valley, cut by the Odet river just outside Quimper, is thick with legend, and on a foggy morning it is easy to see why. Ancient oaks and beeches rise straight out of a floor of moss and fern, their upper branches vanishing into drifting cloud, while the river itself moves quietly below, barely visible through the haze. The mist had come up the gorge and was sitting between the trees, thick enough that the far bank was only a suggestion.
I spent the whole morning simply watching the fog thin and thicken again, waiting for the one moment when the light would carry just far enough into the trees to give the scene some depth without flattening it completely.
I framed upright through a stand of ferns, so the near fronds stay sharp and everything beyond them softens, rank by rank, into grey. Fog is the most reliable depth cue there is: once I had a foreground worth keeping, the valley could disappear behind it at its own pace.

Materials
Hahnemühle fine art papers (Photo Rag, Museum Etching, Fine Art Baryta…), chosen for each photograph.
Print mounted on 3 mm aluminium Dibond: rigid, light, no glazing.
Print set between 3 mm Dibond and an acrylic sheet: richer colour and depth, resistant to UV and humidity.
Framing, optional
For paper prints: white mount and Plexiglas glazing, museum glass optional. The mount puts space between the photo and the frame: a classic, understated look that draws the eye to the image.
For aluminium and acrylic, black or white. A narrow gap separates the photo from the moulding: it seems to hang suspended inside its frame, for a contemporary look.
For aluminium and acrylic: an aluminium structure fixed to the back, invisible once hung. The photo seems to rest on the wall, slightly set off from it.
